FileBound 9.0 release
FileBound 9.0 release will start rolling out in February 2026. This release brings significant enhancements to performance, usability, and scalability, along with the completion of key modernization initiatives. Please review the details below to prepare your teams and customers for the upcoming release.
What's new in FileBound 9.0
- Reaper Project completion: The backend modernization initiative delivers improved performance, stability, and scalability across FileBound, setting the foundation for future innovation.
- API enhancement: Updates deliver more robust, secure, and predictable connectivity, making it easier to integrate FileBound with existing business systems and support future extensibility needs.
- Web Viewer default: The Beta Web Viewer becomes the standard interface for all users. With its modern design, it offers improved performance, enhanced accessibility features, and cross-device compatibility.
- Business Intelligence enhancements: Improvements to BI widgets include better visualization options, more intuitive controls, and enhanced data filtering capabilities, making it easier to extract actionable intelligence from document data.
- Additional Fields: Enhancements expand flexibility and control of Additional Fields with improved field types, better validation options, enhanced conditional logic, and more granular permission controls.
- Licensing management: The licensing management interface has been redesigned, providing clearer visibility into license usage, allocation, and availability, plus proactive alerts for approaching limits.
As previously communicated, FileBound 9.0 also finalizes the deprecation of several legacy features. Please review the
FileBound 9.0 Deprecation Summary for full details and migration guidance, and ensure your customers complete any necessary updates before release.
Release schedule
- Feb. 8, 2026: Partners will have access to the FileBound 9.0 test site.
- Feb. 9, 2026: On-premise customers will be able to download the release.
- FileBound cloud customer migration will take place in two phases. (Contact your Partner Account Manager with any questions regarding your customers’ place in the rollout.)
- March 8, 2026: Cloud Wave 1 (U.S. sites)
- April 12, 2026: Cloud Wave 2 (U.S. and U.K. sites)
